Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582) Oda Nobunaga is one of the most important people of the Sengoku period.  At the age of fifteen, Oda Nobunaga's father died, and he was forced to take over leadership of the clan. He was an expert tactician.  His most famous successes, at Okehazama and Nagashino were the result of Oda's willingness to adopt clever strategies and assimilate the new technology of the Teppo (riflemen).
