Mo-Tun
After Tu-Man united all the tribes of the Xiong-Nu into a single Hun nation, Mo-Tun assassinated his father and assumed command, naming himself Tan-Hu, or "the magnificent." He immediately re-organized and expanded his army and began an extensive military campaign against the remaining independent tribes in Mongolia, including the Tunghus, the Tinglings, and the Yueh-Chih.Now in control of the Silk Road, the Xiong-Nu under Mo-Tun became quite wealthy, and embarked on larger campaigns against Han China. Mo-Tun defeated Qao-Ti and forced China to pay him tribute. The Hun Empire at the time of his death stretched from Northern Mongolia to Tibet and the Aral sea.
